A reproduction print of a great work
of art is presented to the class and a corresponding art project is
completed. Each grade level has its
own desired frequency of visits, which we help you plan at the beginning of the
school year.
Many of the volunteers come with
little or no background in art, but have a desire to be involved in their
child’s classroom in a fun and engaging way. It’s a great opportunity to share a
learning experience with our young children through mutual enjoyment and
appreciation of art! Kiva has an
excellent on-campus research area of fine art prints with over 500 fabulous
great masterpiece art reproductions, corresponding art supplies and fun, related
art projects that emulate the artists style! We provide training and support all year
long! And most of the time you’ll
work in a group or with another
volunteer!
This is a wonderful program for everyone involved. The students, classroom teacher and MAP volunteers learn about the various types of art and artists.

Our goal is to ensure that
awareness and appreciation of art remain alive and flourish for the next
generation, while associating art within the class curriculum. (Perhaps van Gogh’s Irises or Monet’s Waterlilies would be the selected
fine art print if the class was studying flowers or nature!)
Volunteer to join the group helping in your child’s classroom! Have some fun and meet the really great school wide team of masterpiece art volunteers! Best of all you’ll enjoy quality time with your child! Call us with any questions! We’d love to hear from you!
Thanks so much to our wonderful Kiva teachers, PTO and
to Dr. Helminski & our Assistant Principal Tom Gannon for their gracious support and
enthusiastic encouragement of our Masterpiece Art Program. Above all, it’s volunteers like YOU that
make this program special!
